How we give back!
At RMC we like to give back! Our diverse team support organizations of various interests by volunteering and donating.

Reading Food Pantry
The current euphemism for hunger is “food insecurity”. It still means not knowing where your next meal is coming from or if you will have enough to feed your kids. Reading’s response to the issue is the food pantry. Since the 1980’s the pantry has been housed in the Old South Methodist Church, sponsored by the Reading Clergy Association, staff by volunteers and stocked by the monetary and nonperishable food donations of townspeople. It is truly us taking care of ours!

With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y nurtures the potential of every youth and teen, improves the nation’s health and well-being and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors.

One of our team members is an approved foster parent for perspective adoption dogs.

The word “zaguate” is used in Costa Rica to refer to a mixed breed dog, a mutt, a stray. Territorio de Zaguates is a “No-Kill Shelter”, a dog sanctuary for over 1.000 wagging tails, where we do not believe in euthanasia as a solution to the problem of abandoned dogs in Costa Rica. Our mission is to find a home for all the dogs that are in our care. We are a temporary home for hundreds of puppies looking for a second chance, and we are also the permanent home of many others who may never find their own family.
